Six Word Saturday

 photo SWSUnsee2_zpsfaed58d3.jpg

Sometimes I lie awake at night
(because I can't sleep, I don't lie there purposely)
and think about some of the things I see online.
And  I'm talking about the headlines, Folks...
not the gory story one must search out.

  1. Oh, I wish it was only just online... It's everywhere, all the time. what a world. No wonder we don't sleep.

    1. Yes, it is, and it seems to be getting worse daily. If I think about it very long at all, I can find myself depressed. Knowing Jesus really helps me deal with the thoughts.

  2. Oh I know... sometimes we can't switch off: that happens to me often as well especially when I'm stressed.
No matter what meditation technics it remains restless in my head. Good 6WS though!

    1. My mind is usually going like a TV where someone is continuously changing the channels!

  4. I keep a pen and paper beside the bed in case I actually think of something important. Mostly when i can't sleep I pack my suitcase for the next cruise.

    1. Oh yes! I can solve the world's problems at 2 a.m., unfortunately, by the time the alarm clock goes off, it's all gone.

  7. well...we all know the old saying "No news is good news" WELL ! Perhaps we should all participate in developing a blog that just has good news....we could call it Good News Sunday and everyone who wants to play has to tell a TRUE good news story from something they either experienced or read or heard about that week. What do you think!? I am like an ostrich these days refusing to turn on the TV or read the paper. It's awful what is out there and mostly it's garbage filled with half truths and lots of exaggeration stirred into the pot and also a lot about folks in Hollywood that I could care less about....humpf.....just call me Ms Crabby Pants today!

    1. That's actually a good idea...and I've thought along those lines myself.

  8. Its too bad the titles can't in some way act as anti-insomnia agents so you can get some sleep. Maybe you'll have to do a blog post some day on some of the titles running through your head :)

  9. Why is the spider purple and gold? I know, I know, but I won't tell. Is the spider going to eat the dragon fly?

    1. The spider won't eat the dragonfly. She's too busy taking bites out of gamecocks, golden bears, and fried okra...and getting ready to take down some blazers and tigers!

  10. This is part of why I left my news job. I had to not only read the headlines but the stories as well. And approve the photos. And check the videos. Often that meant looking them over multiple times, fact-checking details. It was heart-breaking and kept me up at night. I don't want to be completely unaware of the world around me but sometimes a bit less aware lets me sleep a bit easier.

    Thanks for playing 6WS.
